  • Volleyball falls to College of the Ozarks

Southwestern Christian University volleyball fans packed the gym Thursday night to watch as the Lady Eagles dropped to 0-1 for the season.

The College of the Ozarks, who are ranked second in MCAC preseason poles, defeated Southwestern Christian in three matches at the Lady Eagles 2010 season opener.

The young SCU team fell behind early in the first match to the Lady Bobcats and spent the rest of the night trying to re-gain momentum.

THe Lady Eagles, however, fought hard throughout the entirety of the night, coming back to scare the 2009 MCAC Conference Champions late in the third match when SCU brought the score to within four points.

"I'm very proud of the way our girls never gave up tonight. Our girls all possess different levels of talent and maturity. Our goal for this season is to try and combine those levels and unite everyone as individuals into one solid unit." said Coach Bittle. "We are only going to get better and grow stronger as the season continues."

The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, August 31st when they face off with Hillsdale Freewill Baptist at home. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
