Jessie Burpo

SCU is pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, the Cheer squad at SCU will be under the direction of Coach Jessica Burpo. Jessie is a product of Anderson, South Carolina where she spent her childhood before deciding to move to Bethany to attend SCU in the fall of 2005. As a student there, she participated in the cheer program before moving on to receive her Associate of Arts degree in 2007. Before becoming involved in cheer, Jessie possessed a passion for jazz and lyrical dance in which she trained for 11 years with a 2 year stint in ballet. She is excited to have the opportunity to further exercise her fervor for cheer and dance by helping to carry the SCU program forward in the upcoming 2010-2011 season.

Jessie also serves as executive assistant to Southwestern Christian University President, Dr. Ed Huckeby and Vice President of University Advancement, Jon Chasteen. She currently resides in Bethany with her husband of three years, Woody.
