Transcript Request


How can I make a request for transcripts?
Transript requests must contain all the information on the form (see link below). Please download and print the form below, complete it (with signature), and send it by one of the following methods.

  3. If you want to send the request using an email account other than SCU assigned email, you must scan the form and send as an attachment.

Please note: We will accept faxed requests on the official request form ONLY if the request is to send transcripts directly to another institution of higher education. Faxed requests will not be processed if the transcripts are to be sent to a person or place of business. This policy is to protect private information release.

When will my transcript request be processed? How long does it take to get a transcript?
We ask for 7-10 business days from the time the request is received to process requests. (Note: if it it possible, our goal is to process requests on Tuesdays and Fridays by 1:00 p.m. However, depending on the workload in the Office of the Registrar, these processing times cannot be guaranteed.)

Will you notify me when transcripts are sent? We do not notify you when transcripts are sent. If you have requested for us to send transcripts to another institution or place of employment, please confirm with that other entity before contacting SCU personnel.

Why is my signature required for transcript requests? Federal legislation, referred to as The Femily Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), provided specific requirements controlling the release of academic transcripts. FERPA requires that the student personally authorizes the release of his/her transcript to a third party.

Can anyone sign the consent form on my behalf? No, you must personally authorize the release of your transcript by a written signature or through your SCU issued e-mail account.

What if I have a hold placed on my student account? If you have a hold on your student account, you should take the appropriate steps to remove the hold. Once the hold has been removed from your account, the transcript request will then be processed.

Can I have transcripts from other institutions or my high school released to me?
We do not release back to the student or applicant documents from other entities that are not maintained and originated by SCU. Transcripts, test scores, or other materials originated by other organizations or institutions must be obtained from the original source.

Request Process

Transcripts may be ordered through the Office of the Registrar. By federal regulation, all transcript requests must contain a signature or be sent by the administrating university secure email system (E.g. If you do not have an e-mail account, you can download the transcript request form, print it, complete it, scan it and return it to the registrar by e-mail attachment through any e-mail account. We do not process faxed transcript requests.

Transcript requests will be processed if and when all financial obligations to SCU have been met and exit counseling with the financial aid office has been completed. Account reconciliation should be confirmed before requesting transcripts.

Transcript requests made by third parties will not be honored without a student-signed waiver giving the third party authority to request the transcript.


Transcripts of completed coursework at SCU will be available approximately two (2) weeks after the completion of courses pending grade submission by instructors. Final transcripts indicated degree conferrals are available four (4) times in the calendar year: the date of May Commencement, August 1, December 30, and March 1 whichever is the next closest date to the completion of degree requirements. These final, official transcripts will also be available approximately two (2) weeks after the completion of the degree pending grade submission by instructors.


Requests for official transcripts to be released or sent in 48 hours (two business days) or less will be charged a $15.00 fee PER COPY. After the first 5 copies ordered within 12 months, there may be an additional $5 per copy fee added. Any fees must be paid to the business office before transcripts will be released or sent.
