MLA Format

 

The MLA ( Modern Language Association) format is the format  that SCU has chosen for the Professional Studies program. Every paper should be written in the MLA format (with the exception for special projects such as the PLE). 

Basic Requirements of MLA:

  • 12pt. font- use legible font (e.g. Times New Roman) Please check with your instructor.
  • Doublespaced
  • 1- inch margins on all sides
  • Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks.
  • Indent the first line of paragraphs one half-inch from the left margin (5 spaces).
  • Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper right-hand corner,one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin. (Note: Your instructor may ask that you omit the number on your first page. Always follow your instructor's guidelines.)
