  • New Archive Sapce Emerging

    The space is small but it will allow for display of some historic images, placques, and documents related to the history of Southwestern Christian University. The archive files are being shifted to this space along with some technology to assist in plans to scan documents and create a database of the contents of the collection. Access will follow establish standard practices for archives: user will have to fill out an application, use only pencils, and may even have to use special gloves on occa...

  • New Printer/Copier Installed in Campus Computer Lab

    A new printer/copier was installed recently allowing students to use USB flash drives, email, scan, and eventually fax from the lab.  The increase in students enrolled has created a busy place as students vie for access to computers to print or to the copier to make needed copies for class.

  • FALL 2012!

    Welcome back for another dynamic and exciting year of classes!  The library is continuing its inventory process so if the catalog says we don't have it - ask the library!  A special faculty orientation will be held on Friday, August 31 to kick start the dynamic duo - the classroom instructor and the  library working together!

  • SUMMER READING

    Did you know?   Students, faculty and staff may check out books for summer reading and return them the first week of fall classes.  Request this when you check out and we will assign a special summer due date!   ALSO, remember we issue GUEST CARDS to local ministers and pastors. So come on - check us out soon!

  • Last Day for returns

    The last Wed. of the month is the day all books and resources should be a) returned or b) renewed for additional time. All materials should be returned to the book drop in the lobby of the Library.

  • Meet An Author : April 29, 2012

    Anne Urne, Oklahoma City, is a world traveling author.  Blending spiritual discovery in learning about the saints and little knowns of the world - Anne has captured the imagination of readers.  Here is a link to her website. T.J. Standridge will delight parents and children with her book about a energetic little girl and the "Sugar Plum Fairies", while Art Anthony will give you the urge to "saddle up" and ride off on a western style adventure.

  • Library to Host Spring Author Events

    The SCU Library announces it will host a series of spring author signing events designed to bring authors and readers together and encourage connection between the campus and the community. "An Author in Town" will help meet a need of the creative community by allowing local and state authors to do book signings, book readings, and meet-n-greets. The first event will be Saturday January 28 from 3-4 p.m.

    Marilyn A. Hudson, Director of Library Services, published a biography of the Reverend Noel Brooks called Noel Brooks: A Life Shining and Burning, 1914-2006. It was released in December 2011.     Due to circumstances beyond our control  Thursday evening hours will have to be shortened this semester. The library will close at 6 p.m. starting March 2, 2011.

  • THE STATE OF THE LIBRARY: WINTER REPORT 2011

    "Happy Days" are here! The oft complained about restrooms in the library have been upgraded with new counters, hardware, paint and artwork. The pink and blue color scheme (dating to the 1980's) that we heard so many students complaining about over the last few years - well, they are now a thing of the past!
