Chaplain (Captain) Randy Sellers (USAF), currently serves as the senior Protestant chaplain at
Ramstein Air Base in Ramstein, Germany. He regularly preaches to 600 soldiers and military personnel on Sundays. Captain Randy Sellers attended Southwestern Christian University (SCU) in 1983 where he met his wife, Sheila. Sheila is also a graduate of SCU. Captain Sellers went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University (1997).
Sheila Sellers is the daughter of Garry and Bea Vavak who reside in Oklahoma City. Randy and Sheila have three children, Haley (20), Jonathan (17), Dana (15). Captain Sellers served as chaplain in 2002 during "Operation Enduring Freedom", the battle to expel the Taliban from Afghanistan. He is a highly decorated chaplain with eight different medals and citations in his seven years of service, including the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Outstanding Unit Award with Valor. Captain Sellers also recently received the "Company Grade Officer of the Quarter" award for his dedication in recruiting and training 90 volunteers to lead religious education studies for over 1,800 personnel a month, saving the Air Force over fifteen thousand manpower hours. This is an award that is rarely given to a
chaplain.
Captain Randy and Sheila Sellers are making a difference for Christ and His Kingdom and are a credit to SCU.
