The purpose of the athletic department of Southwestern Christian University is to glorify God thru competitive intercollegiate sports competition. We believe this can be accomplished by the way we demonstrate Christ-like character while competing in physical competition. SCU coaches and athletes believe winning comes from excellence, and character comes from perseverence. The expectations of our athletes are to grow physically through sport competition, increase their mental capacity by the knowledge gained from highly qualified classroom instruction, and last but not least, to grow spirtually through multiple opportunites.

SCU has made application to the (NAIA) National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to become members in the fall of 2010. SCU has been accepted to the (MCAC) Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference pending membership approval from the NAIA. Scholarships opportunities will be available in the fall 2010 semester. Membership will continue in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
