Application for Admission
Admission
to Southwestern Christian University is based upon evidence of definite
Christian conversion, academic achievement, personal recommendations, a
demonstrated aptitude for college level work and personal character.
Concurrent Enrollment
High school juniors and seniors who meet certain entrance criteria may enroll in
4 credit hours per semester at a discounted rate. Applicants interested in
concurrent enrollment must submit the following:

The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

ACT/SAT
scores are recommended but not required
Freshman Admission
Applicants who have no prior college credit (excluding concurrent enrollment
credits) are considered first-time freshmen. Applicants must submit the
following to be considered for admission:

High School Transcripts
The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

ACT and/or SAT scores
The applicant must have a cumulative ACT Score of 19 with no less than 6 on
the written portion or a 1360 on the ACT with no less than 450 on the written
portion.
Note: Applicants age 26 and older are not required to submit ACT or SAT
scores. A written essay will be required in place of the written assessment.
SCU reserves the right to require residual testing on site upon enrollment.
Transfer Admission
Applicants with prior college credit are considered transfer students.
Applicants must submit the following to be considered for admission:

A completed application

Signed Lifestyle Covenant

Official transcripts from all schools attended. Transcripts must be mailed
directly to the SCU Office of Admissions by other institutions.
The applicant must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0
Note: Official transcripts received by SCU cannot be returned to students.

Applicants with less than 12 college credit hours must submit an official high
school transcript and ACT and/or SAT test scores.
The applicant must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5.
The applicant must

International Students
Applicants who are not US residents or have legal alien (green card) status are
considered international students. The following documents are required:

I-20
SCU will send an I-20 to any international applicant who requests it, regardless
of application status. Contact the University at 888.418.9272 or
admissions@swcu.edu to obtain an I-20.

A completed
application for admission
The application must be completed in English.
·
An
application fee of $200
·
Test of
English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores
·
Official
transcripts of high school and/or college work
These transcripts must be translated into English prior to submission.
·
The student
must demonstrate the ability to pay the cost of college education at SCU. The
Certification of Financial Resources form must be submitted.
·
$1000 tuition
deposit.
One half of this deposit will be applied toward tuition and fees upon
acceptance. The remainder will be retained by the University until the student
departs.

Proof of
medical insurance
Readmittance
Students who have been out of student status at SCU for part of a semester or
longer must apply for readmittance to the University. A readmittance
application is available from the Office of Admission.
Notification of Admission
Southwestern Christian University has a rolling admission policy. Once all
required credentials have been received, the SCU Office of Admissions will
notify the applicant by e-mail and/or by phone. Applicants who wish to know the
status of their application should contact the Office of Admissions at
