Ken L. Young is Professor of Bible and Theology at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma. He served also for fourteen years as the Director and Dean of Adult Studies.

Ken represents a fourth generation Pentecostal Holiness heritage. His father, maternal grandfather and great grandfather were ministers in the Pentecostal Holiness movement. He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina where he lived for eighteen years enjoying his days growing up on a small farm. Ken accepted Christ at the age of six, but in response to a family tragedy he soon deviated from the faith for nine years. Ken returned to the faith at the age of sixteen and accepted the call of God into fulltime ministry.

Ken holds ministerial credentials through the Upper South Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. After serving as Director of Christian Education for two years in his home church, Ken worked under two pastors as a Youth Pastor for two years and then as an Associate Pastor for two years. Ken pastored two churches in South Carolina for a total of eight years while serving on the Conference World Missions Board and the Conference Evangelism Board. Since moving to Oklahoma Ken participated as a Teaching Elder for eight years at Christian Heritage Church and Covenant Community Church in Yukon. He attends and serves at Divine Life Church in Oklahoma City.

Ken's faithfulness to his heritage never interfered with his yearning for unity within and among the body of Christ. An advocate of ecumenicalism, Ken interned for one year in a Southern Baptist Church, ministered for two years in a United Methodist congregation, and served for three months as interim pastor at a Presbyterian Church. In addition, he is a fervent opponent of prejudices within society in general and among the people of God in particular. Ken has served in parachurch and civic organizations throughout his ministerial career.

Ken describes his destiny as a "Foundation Builder." His ministry goal is to lay new foundations and reinforce existing ones. His purpose is focused, but his vision is global. God has given a mandate to Ken to teach the nations of the world. He has taught in Kenya, East Africa and Israel. Future ministry locations include India, Liberia, Ghana, Cameroon, and Tanzania.

Because he esteems the development of the mind as essential to the development of the soul, Ken attended and graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. He continued his educational pursuits at Columbia Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Arts degree with a major in New Testament Greek and cognate studies in Systematic Theology. Columbia awarded Ken a graduate fellowship for doctoral studies; with this award he enrolled in Golden West Christian University where he is pursuing a Doctor of Theology degree in Biblical Studies specializing in the Gospel of John.

Ken resides in Yukon, Oklahoma with his wife, Jacqualine, and their two children, Andrew and Kara.
