1992 Alum - David and Andrea Eby

In 1992, David and Andrea (Bachelor) Eby graduated from Southwestern, and then relocated to Brentwood, TN, a suburb of Nashville. They now have three children: Madison Grace (age 10); Aidan Stone (7) and Asher David (10 months). The adoption of their youngest son, Asher David, was recently finalized. David currently owns a real estate appraisal company (The Eby Group) and also works with various investors in real estate investment projects within the area.   Besides being a full-time Mom, Andrea enjoys working from her home as a manager for a Christian music group (Phillips, Craig & Dean) and occasionally sings on the worship team for Beth Moore ministry events.

When asked how Southwestern impacted his life, David stated, "To say that SCU is part of my heritage is an understatement, not only as my alma mater, but that is where I met my wife, Andrea. I had the privilege of attending SCU with both of my siblings. Both of my parents and Andrea's Mom are alumni, as well. I would say that the array of classes taught by Mrs. Iaquinta greatly impacted my life. I learned things, such as practical and analytical thinking. Themes such as 'unity amid diversity' and 'not taking myself too seriously' stick with me to this day. Dr. Corvin's "Public Speaking" course still keeps me conscious of the 'uhs' and the 'you knows' when I'm giving public presentations."
Apart from his family, David's current interest and time are given to volunteer work with the disaster relief organization, Shelterbox (www.shelterbox.org). David is part of a group of individuals (SRT- Shelterbox Response Team) who are on-call
to mobilize immediately into areas around the world bringing survival aid to victims of floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and other natural disasters.
David recently returned from Myanmar where he was a part of a team overseeing the distribution of aid to the thousands of victims of Cyclone Nargis. He states, "While the circumstances are always difficult, I consider it a privilege to be able to offer help to those struggling to survive."
Southwestern is truly proud of David and Andrea and the success they've achieved in their work in God's kingdom.
